Google Based Phone?

How cool would that be?
I may be biased, because I’m on board with whatever Google’s up to. I think they’re a phenomenal company and the way they’re taking the internet is insane and unimaginable. But phones?! That’d be nuts. It’d really make me re-consider investing in the iPhone. I’d have to compare them and read other comparisons. I hope they do go that route. I can’t imagine Google in 10 years. It’ll be so frighteningly powerful.

Leopard PWNS!! I’ve had it said to me that it is ‘teh sex’. I concur. Leopard is teh sex.
Its gorgeous through and through. Its fast. Beutiful. Fully functioning. And my favourite part…
terminal is customizable :P . No more white screen with black text. My terminal is green text on a black semi-transparent (about 85% opaque) background. Its wicked :)

I love everything about it. Most of all that Quicksilver still works (seriously, if you use a Mac, get Quicksilver. I can’t deal without it!).
My only complaint is that instead of upgrading I formatted and reinstalled and being knowledgable I, of course, backed up the apps and documents I wanted to keep. HOWEVER! Since “iLife comes on all Macs” i didn’t bother backing up my iLife suite. Turns out, its not included with the OS. SOO. I have no iPhoto, iWeb, iDVD, iMovie and HAD no Garageband.
Pastor Kevin is bringing me his iLife ‘08 disc tomorrow but I’m bummed because I want iMovie ‘06. It’s alot better than the crappy ‘08 version. I’m sad. Bad form Apple. (or me:P)

It works!

It worked! I don’t know how, but I got this to work on my old crappy workstation at work! Woot more frequent updates.
Hmm. What else can I add that’s new?
Alyssa and I are celebrating four months today! That’s pretty new :P
I wrote her a letter ad mailed it to her yesterday. I hope it gets to her. I’m not sure what her PO Box number is so I just put her house number. Hopefully it still gets to her. It has the link to this site on it so maybe she’ll read this post. I love you Alyssa :)

Umm. I’m really not so enthused about my course anymore. I don’t know if its because maybe it wasn’t really what I’m looking for or because I really want to take a Computer Programmer Analyst course next year and find that this current course just takes away from time I could be working and saving for that. I don’t know. I really need to talk to Pastor Kevin about dropping down to a part-full time student. I want more than just the Monday night classes, but I don’t want to be bound down by having to be there all the time. I don’t want to dissappoint him though. I know its a dumb reason to not talk to him. I really need to start saving for next year. Hopefully he understands its a change of heart. He’s really big on missions in the marketplace right now though, so perhaps he’ll understand it and agree with it. My goal would be to get Monday and Wednesdays off of school so I can work at least a 40 hour week. I’ll talk to him tomorrow (I wasn’t planning on going in but he actually needs us there. I’m only going in the morning to help though).

Aside from having to tell Pastor Kevin that I’m essentially resigning from his course, I’m really looking forward to next year. I love computer programming and have as long as I can remember. To do it as a job, especially after taking a program as extensive as St. Lawrence’s or Flemming’s, would be amazing. I’ve been talking more to a graduate of the CPA program at St. Lawrence and everytime I talk to him I want to do it more.

Hopefullly Pastor Kevin is open to the idea. As a conservative and a capitalist I think he’ll be okay with my working more :P

LEOPARD!

I completely forgot! How could I?! I get it free! (suckers :P )

I’m now frantically searching for a cheap CPU upgrade for my G3 so I can get it installed on that too. I’ll have to upgrade the RAM too. I should check and see how much my logic board supports for RAM first though I guess.

I’m so stoked!

*edit*

I found this upgrade here. $300 plus RAM and I could be rocking Leopard on my Blue and White.
I’ll be right back…

I just found out my copy is in. I’m going to get it tonight and install it when I get home. Oh man I’m excited.
Still looking for a faster chip than 1Ghz though. Be right back again…

Can’t find any right now. It’d cost me about $500 to upgrade my Blue and White to Leopard. $300 for the CPU up grade. $100 for RAM upgrades and $100 for another copy of Leopard. Hmm. Maybe. Just maybe.

So tired.

I’m not sure why. I went to bed at like 12. And I woke up at 9:15. But I’m still freaking tired.
This won’t be the best condition to learn code in. But I’ll try anyway haha.

It dawned on me this morning that I haven’t cracked the spine of my Bible in a LONG time. I think tonight after work I’l going to. It’ll be good. I need to start a daily schedule, as much as I HATE being on a schedule. Oh well. It’ll help be pick up good habits.

Ai Ai Ai (like the robot from Power Rangers :P)

I’m thinking I really want to take the Computer Programmer Analyst course at either St. Lawrence or George Brown.

SOO. I’ve decided to hop back into the programming game. I’ve ALMOST caught up in Java. I’ve still got graphics and sorts to re-learn (which just so happen to be the two things I sucked at most haha). But I’m back on top of methods and loops and if statements and all that easy stuff.
I’ve also decided to learn C++, a language I’ve wanted to learn since grade 10. The curriculem for grade 12 when I was in grade 11 would have made us learn C++ but then the next year, the year I went into grade 12, they cut C++ and just did more Java. Blah. Oh well. I’ve found a really thorough tutorial that I’ve been working throught. The only problem is I don’t have a C++ Environment to code in at work and go through with it. But its alot like java so far so I think I should be able to keep the code memorized. I’ll have to go dump it out on paper tonight to see if I can.

Anyway. That’s what’s new. New plan for my life lol. I’ll probably still be a youth pastor, but only part time. Like offering my services to a church at some point or something. Who knows.
Anwyay (again). I’m out.

God bless.

Games II

I suck soooo bad at video games. Alyssa was beating me when we went to Randall’s yesterday. And at Mortal Kombat for crying out loud! I definitely need to practice up. I can’t get school by a girl. Especially not a girl that doesn’t game! eek!
I got to play Gears of War for the first time yesterday. Its pretty sweet. I didn’t completely master the controls but I wouldn’t mind buying a 360 so I can play it. That’d be sweet.

Money

I’m poor. But conservative!

I realize that I’m only poor because I a - don’t work enough and b - don’t save enough. Soooo. I’m going to start doing more of both.
My VISA got racked up last month with $200 of unplanned expenses being charged to it ($150 for a 500GB External HD that was on sale, it saved me $200, and $50 for a 4GB flash drive that was on sale and saved me like $30). I’m just bouncing back to that because I got my VISA down to $50 (from almost $500). Next pay I’ll be flush again and can hopefully put some money away. Then I’ll put away more and more each pay. It’ll work out.
So, I need to sit down and make a budget. I realized I have $400 a month of money that I don’t know where it goes. I’ll have o figure that out. I’m going to be paying close attention to my spending for the next little bit.
